Rhinoplasty Surgery

Rhinoplasty is a short surgery, lasting only a couple of hours typically. The procedure can obviously vary a great deal depending on what you want done, but during this time you will be under anesthesia. Usually the procedure involves the removal of the skin from your nose, after which your surgeon will proceed to reshape the underlying cartilage and bone according to your specifications. Once the work is complete, the skin will be replaced, and then the surgery will be over. You may need to wear a splint on your nose afterwards for a time, depending on the procedure.

You can get all manner of structural adjustments with Rhinoplasty. You can have your nose made larger or smaller, change the orientation of the nostrils or the bridge of the nose, or modify the angle between your upper lip and nose.

Do you have a birth defect, or an injury which has damaged your nose? Whether for aesthetic or functional reasons, it would make sense for you to want to repair the damage. Rhinoplasty can be used to restore your nose to its original shape before your injury, or to create a new shape for your nose to correct a birth defect.

Do you suffer from sleep apnea or snoring problems? Sleep apnea, a condition in which your breathing ceases at frequent intervals as you rest, can be not only frightening, but sometimes even life threatening. Both these problems can be caused by structural problems in the nose, and sometimes Rhinoplasty can be used to correct them. Sufferers of snoring and sleep apnea are often prime candidates for Rhinoplasty.

Finally, are you dissatisfied with your appearance, and simply want to change the shape of your nose so that you can look the way you want to look? Rhinoplasty can be a purely cosmetic procedure as well. Unfortunately cosmetic procedures are looked upon as "elective" by insurance providers, so you may not be able to get coverage for it. That doesn't mean you can't afford Rhinoplasty though. Medical tourism may be able to help you out there.

Getting a nose job was a life changing decision for me. I'm so glad I followed through.
